Hammer has Inspired me...

I'm not gonna lie, before this weekend I had thought of blogging, but hadn't done it. Mostly because I was busy with my cousin's wedding last weekend (free wine - don't abuse the system - you will end up leaving the 2 bottles of wine that you ingested on someone's driveway - and I don't mean in the bottles.....), had to get Casa McP ready for the Mafia's visit this weekend, prepare for McMan's birthday (yesterday) and tend to my aching knee - which apparently has decided to to TU right before hockey season and the big gear-up for our huge evaluation at work. Joy of joys.

HOWEVER - In having Hammer and VonHammer here the past two nights and hearing of Hammers tales of blogging buddies, comment-fests and posts galore, I am re-energized.

Quick updates:
* My knee effing hurts. The Toyota center needs to invest in some hand rails so getting up and down the stairs can be done safely and with less pain to those joint-ily challenged like me. Or they need to allow flying monkies to enter the building - stupid no pets rules...

* I heart my goalie. I heart that my goalie is going to Nashville for camp. I, however, do not heart that we'll be without him for a time, leaving me with little confidence in who will be here in his stead. I know not everyone can be Chet Pickard... but at least when Carey was away, we had Chetter to fall back on.

* I need to get my Dish fixed. Damnit.

* *NSYNC's "Pop" came on the stereo in Hammer's car this night as we were leaving the rink. I can neither confirm nor deny that I almost put a McP-shaped hole in the roof of her car and squeeled like a ... well, let's face it, like a 19 year-old McP. I miss them. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who still listens to them on a regular basis.... or plays their songs on the piano when she's feeling low and/or blue.... I mean, I'm just sayin...

* Hammer's comment on the mix cd I have playing right now, "This CD is filled with songs I had forgotten existed."

* The shoe check we witnessed tonight was flinking amazing.

* It's HOCKEY SEASON, BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My pimp strut IS full on.. I'm just afraid my pimp strut will turn into my pimp tumble... much like Mr. Meth did in section C.

Is it wrong that I still giggle on the inside when I think of that?

Man, I need to live near a junior team so my hockey season would be started. But it warms my heart that some of you out there are getting fresh hockey, even if it's Chetterless (man, I was SO hoping the Wild would draft him; everything I've read tells me he's a my kinda goalie).

I don't know if I could have contained my excitement if the Wild would've drafted him - Chet, Clay AND Shawn Belle? Seriously 3 of the nicest guys in the world. Maybe in a couple years they'll draft his little brother Calvin. Got to see him in action on Friday night. He will be every bit as good as Chet - if not better.

Poor Shawn. He had a tough season last year. And he was traded to Montreal in exchange for Corey Locke this summer, so no more Shawn for us. Constantine's system just wasn't working for him (which means Lemaire's likely wouldn't have either).

Still the idea of Chetters taking over for Brusty in a couple of years sounded really damn nice to me. Le sigh.

WHOOOO SEASON! Too bad the closest team to me sucks. Really badly.

Ms. C - That's what I get for taking the off-season off-hockey! I much prefer Chetter to Brusty, but I do admit that from time to time, I miss the "whack whack whack" of Brust's stick on his pads for no apparent reason.

Kirsten - Everett might give them a run for their money on worst team in the division this season...

McP, he was tapping way back then huh? And sticking the glove in the top of his pad? :) We've tried to count the taps to see if there's some upper limit but I can't find one.

Yeah, Chetter is better (heh) at a younger age. But somehow I just believe in Brusty. Like a religious zealot. Like I wanna go knock on doors and spread the word and make others believe.

That's good to know. At least they won't be the absolute worst. Maybe I'll just go to Vancouver instead.
